Family fun: $1 movie tickets for keiki films

Consolidated Theatres will bring back its summer “Keiki Film Hui” series, which allows families to enjoy movies — and air conditioning — for $1 per ticket. The nine featured movies are: 

• “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie”: June 3 and 4
• "Despicable Me 4” – June 10 and 11
• “Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse” – June 17 and 18
• “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” – June 24 and 25
• “Minions: The rise of Gru” – July 1 and 2
• “Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse” – July 8 and 9
• “Kung Fu Panda 4” – July 15 and 16
• “The Wild Robot” – July 22 and 23
• “Shrek 2” – July 29 and 30

The shows run at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from June 3 through July 30. Movies will be featured at various locations, including theaters at Ward, Mililani, Pearlridge and Kapolei.

"We are so excited to welcome our local families back to the theaters this summer for this one-of-a-kind movie event,” said Jenna Mimaki, promotions and events manager for Consolidated Theatres, in a written statement. “Audiences can cool off from the summer heat, enjoy family-friendly films and snack on their favorite treats—all at an incredible value!”

Consolidated Theatres operates almost 100 screens on Oʻahu. The company has had a presence in Hawaiʻi since 1917. Buy tickets.
