New mochi donuts are now available at 7-Eleven HawaiÊ»i â yes, thatâs all 67 7-Eleven stores across the state. Plans for these desserts have been in the works for some time, according to Debbie Lee Soon, 7-Eleven HawaiÊ»i category manager of fresh food & pastry.
âMochi donut development has been in the works for more than one year,â she confirms. âSpecial equipment had to be ordered and then there was recipe testing with different flavors and toppings.â

The donuts currently come in three flavors â chocolate, ube and strawberry.
âMilk chocolate, of course, had to be included,â Soon says. âUbe is a fan favorite, but we love the strawberry â real, dried strawberry powder is added to white chocolate to make the glaze; itâs so good!â
Mochi donuts cost $2.29 on OÊ»ahu and $2.69 on Neighbor Islands. 7-Eleven HawaiÊ»i stores are also offering a special âBuild Your Own Boxâ promotion until March 30; a box of six donuts will cost $12.99 on Oahu ($15.79 on neighbor islands).
âEating mochi donuts is just fun,â Soon says. âWho can resist pulling apart the little balls to eat one by one?â
