Hula dancer Oriana Mahealani Lulu grew up on Oahu and joins her husband, Faafetai Lulu, on stage as part of Cirque du Soleilâs âAuana, which debuted at the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel in December 2024.
âWhat makes this show special here at âAuana is definitely the cultural aspect,â she said. âThis is one of the first themed Cirque du Soleil shows that they had that really focuses on Hawaii and their stories.â
A day in the life for Lulu and her husband includes dropping their kids off with a babysitter and then heading to Waikiki. Dancers have two hours to do their hair and make-up and stretch before the show starts, she said. Tickets start at $85.Â
